Advents Unleash New Single "Counterfeit Love"

New York City’s Advents return with their latest single "Counterfeit Love," arriving Friday, August 29th through InVogue Records. The track is paired with a striking music video that premieres the night before at 9pm ET, translating its energy into a gripping visual experience.

‘Counterfeit Love’ is about being in a situation you know isn’t right but leaning into it anyway,” explains drummer Joe Koza. “The song pushes and pulls from start to finish, and I love the way the video captures that. We built on a bit of everything we’ve done as a band up to this point, and we’re really proud of how it all came together.”

"Counterfeit Love" pulls Advents into dangerous territory, both lyrically and sonically, diving into the rush and desire that feels thrilling even when we know it is destructive. The track leans into that tension, capturing the push and pull between clarity and compulsion, the warning signs we recognize but choose to ignore. Advents channel this energy through their signature mix of atmosphere, heaviness, and urgency, with new vocalist Tyler Simpson stepping up alongside Kevin Chapilliquen, Sebastian Ferlin, and Joe Koza to deliver their sharpest performance yet. At its core, the song is about the strange comfort found in authentic inauthenticity, where even counterfeit connection can feel more real than the silence of what-ifs. The result is dizzying, dangerous, and completely addictive, a perfect reflection of everything Advents do best.
